ChOTW: Strum and Stroll

Last week we had trouble posting, but today we are resuming our Charity of the Week post and finishing offStrumstroll a great Thursday with a feature on an even better organization.

Over the weekend The Eileen Anderson Memorial Strum and Stoll annual walk to benefit the Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro. The day consisted of a walk of 3.2 miles and ended with a day of outdoor concerts! They also held a raffle drawing held for local products and services! The Strum and Stroll has some dedicated sponsors including  A3, of which 3 of the founding partners are sons-in-law of Eileen! That is an amazing story and really speaks to the great work that the hospice does!  Hospice is a philosophy of care and really helps brings dignity and confidence to patients and families during their trying times. You can read more about Greensboro’s philosophy, here.

They’ve raised almost 1,700 online and with some great pages like Paul’s and Tom’s.  They even used Firstgiving to encourage eager supporters who couldn’t make the walk! Also, but having their own Bonnaroo in their downtown (line-up here) they were able to get more donations by charging a cover people coming to hear some great music!
