About a month ago in honor of our Nation’s birthday, firstgiving blogged about people who were raising money for the military— Semper Fi Fund and Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund in particular. We mentioned one gentleman, Rey Roy, who had decided to ride cross country on his bike to raise funds for those who served our country. And just last week (July 25th at 12:42 p.m) he finished! In just 39 days he completed 3,700 miles; from California to Virginia Beach.
He raised funds for two charities and raised over $100,000. That’s right, 100,000 dollars!
Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund grand total: $52,895.87
Boys and Girls Clubs of America grand total: $50,042.00
On behalf of firstgiving we congratulate you Rey! What an incredible accomplishment to yourself and to the charities you’ve chosen to support!
