It’s that time of year again where if you’re a runner, you give thanks for your health and celebrate by running a local turkey trot.

This Thanksgiving, some runners have decided to make their turkey trot a little more special by raising money for a cause that is dear to them.

For example, Wayne has raised $2,345 for Burroughs Community Center. While Natalie’s charity of choice is Hopelink and she’s raised $1300 so far. Some other turkey trotters include Steve who’s raised $1327 for Caring for Carcinoid Foundation and Emilio’s fundraising page for Doctors Without Borders is at $314.

Collectively, 92 runners have raised $29,998 for 9 different charities.

Thank you for giving back to your communities.

Happy running and Thanksgiving!
