6 must haves for your online fundraising page

There’s a lot that goes into an engaging fundraising page.  Though all pages are unique, we believe there are some important characteristics they all should have to be most effective.  We’ve highlighted a few points in hopes of helping you maximize your online fundraising page potential.

Heartfelt message
A good online fundraising page needs an engaging, personal message.  No one wants to read a page with generic, uninspired text.  Create a good, honest story around your actions.

Organization information
Let your donors know what your organization does and point them to more information on your organization’s website.  Transparency is key, as donors have many options when choosing to donate.

Clear fundraising goals
Fundraisers with clear goals are more likely to reach them than those without them.  It’s important that you let your supporters know what you expect to raise and how you intend to do it.  Setting your goal, and raising it incrementally is a best practice you should also consider.

Captivating pictures
Adding your personal images to your fundraising page helps show your donors who you are and puts a face to their donation.  Include images from past events or fundraisers you’ve participated in is also a good idea.

Powerful Video
Video is easy to embed on your fundraising page.  Often times these videos are personal appeals and don’t necessarily have to be high quality.  It’s ultimately all about the message.

Communication
Email is a critical and effective part of online fundraising.  The best fundraising pages are those that use the email tool to connect with their supporters.  By letting them know the progress of the campaign, sending thank you emails, or asking for post events donations, email is an important way to connect with supporters.
