Best Practice: Firstgiving on Your Website

It’s the inevitable question–how do I support a cause that’s important to me if I can’t join the annual fundraising walk.  What if there isn’t a walk?  As the blog for the Lupus Foundation of America points out, the answer is to make a Firstgiving online fundraising page!

If you work for a nonprofit, no matter how big or how small, it’s always a good idea to include your Start Page URL in your website’s "ways to help" section.  Remind your supporters of all the benefits fundraising has over straight donations–it tends to raise more money, it spreads the word about your organization, it gets friends involved, etc.  Even better, grab a Firstgiving badge or widget and link directly to your Start Page.
