Here at Firstgiving, we love our moms (how surprising, right?!). And we think a lot about charitable celebrations, so, naturally, we were excited to see all the talk this week about how to give meaningful gifts that honor moms and do good at the same time.
For example, check out this Mother’s Day online giving campaign created by fundraisers for FORCE. We also found some amazing stories from Laura, Saskia, Nancy, and Patti & Lori, who are honoring their moms by raising money online for charity with their personal fundraising pages.
Running out of time? Need some more ideas?
Purchase a $25 quilt patch in honor of your mom from Opportunity International. They’re building a virtual quilt to fund opportunities for women entrepreneurs all over the world. You can even customize your quilt patch, check it out here.
Give your mom a Kiva loan credit for an entrepreneur in Mali, Peru, Tajikistan, Cambodia, or somewhere else.
Purchase a charitable gift in your mom’s name from a gift catalog like World Vision’s, here.
How are you honoring your mom this Sunday?

My son made me breakfast. He bought me a plant and a box of candy. You know Mother’s Day was created in 1928 by President Woodrow Wilson. It was introduced by a woman Jan Hahn. It was because of World War II for the boys who were leaving their Mothers. I thought I would share this with you guys.
