Haiti disaster relief
You’ve probably been keeping up with the news, and may have just received Barack Obama’s email update about Haiti relief efforts and ways to help.
One way to help, is, of course, to give to an organization that is providing relief on the ground to earthquake victims. Another way is to inspire your friends to give, too, by raising money online for Haiti disaster relief.
Here are a few organizations on FirstGiving who are working in Haitian communities and who are involved in the relief efforts. You can make a donation directly at their FirstGiving page, or you can start your own page, like this one.
- AmeriCares
- CARE
- Doctors Without Borders
- Friends of Hospital Albert Schweitzer Hospital Haiti
- Friends of the World Food Program
- MercyCorps
- Partners in Health
- Save the Children
- World Vision
For more information on how you can give to support Haitian relief efforts from the U.S. Department of State, read their blog. You can also text “HAITI” to 90999 to donate $10 to American Red Cross relief for Haiti. And if you want to do even more and raise money online for Haiti relief efforts, read updates here.
