This week's fundraising Best Practice: February 26 – Use your FirstGiving page to provide event information
Our friends at Bright Hope have a 5K fundraising run and walk coming up in May. Since participants are going to register for the event and create fundraising pages from Bright Hope’s FirstGiving page, they’ve clearly displayed all the event information there:
On their FirstGiving page, Bright Hope provides:
- The event name and date
- Registration costs
- Instructions on how to create a successful fundraising page
- Fundraising goals, awards and incentives benchmarks
- Race day information
- The event information is all right here in one place. This means that the folks at Bright Hope can just point supporters to their FirstGiving page from their website, newsletter, and other communications, instead of trying to provide details about the event in several different places.
Supporters can return to check the page as the event date draws closer for more details and fundraising updates.
So, to recap: Use your FirstGiving page as a communication tool for your events. Update your page with relevant information for your event participants.
Happy fundraising!
