This week's nonprofit fundraising Best Practice: February 19 – Provide fundraising incentives
Our friends at the Southern Tier AIDS Program (STAP) are using their annual fundraising walk/run as an opportunity to create stronger ties in their community:
This year, the folks at STAP have partnered with their local YMCA to provide a free 1-year family membership to each of the top three fundraising teams. What’s more, they’re giving the winning teams some great ideas on how to use the incentive to raise more money online.
STAP knows the importance of partnering with people and organizations in their community. They’re also working with the New York AIDS Coalition to share information about advocacy opportunities on AIDS Awareness Day next week.
So, to recap: Use your event as an opportunity to raise money and build relationships in your community. Partner with local organizations or businesses to provide fundraising incentives to your event participants.
Happy fundraising!
